Leafahlet #112325 | Gaslight

Do you trust your instincts?

(Because I Gaslight Mine.)

No, not this kind of gaslight…

There’s this funny little dance I do with myself:

My instincts show up wearing a neon vest, waving flags, blowing a whistle and I still go,

“Hmm… interesting suggestion. Let me ignore you until it becomes a problem.”

I don’t lightly doubt myself.

I professionally doubt myself.

My intuition could hand me a notarized warning, and I’d still ask,

“Okay, but what if we’re just being dramatic?”

It’s almost comedic how consistent the cycle is:

1. My gut whispers early.

2. I pretend it’s a draft or a glitch.

3. Life hands me the exact situation my instincts predicted.

4. I sit there like: Oh wow, déjà vu, who could’ve seen this coming?

(My intuition: Girl… I literally did.)

Why We Ignore the Voice That’s Never Wrong

Instincts aren’t this mystical, flaky thing floating around in the void.

They’re data.

Our bodies catch the micro-expressions we pretend not to notice.

They register the tone shifts we brush off.

They pick up on the emotional “weather change” before our minds even wake up.

Half the things we call “vibes” are really our nervous systems quietly filing reports we never read.

But instead of trusting that intelligence, we often:

~ Over-explain

~ Over-accommodate

~ Overstay

~ Overthink

And then wonder why we’re exhausted…

It’s not that our instincts are unreliable… it’s that we’ve trained ourselves to second-guess them in favor of being “reasonable” or “nice.”

But Here’s the Truth I Keep Learning the Hard Way:

Every time I ignore my instincts, I eventually wish I had listened sooner.

Every. Single. Time.

It’s not about being fearful anymore, it’s about recognizing that your gut sees patterns that your conscious mind hasn’t fully processed yet.

Your instincts aren’t loud because you’re paranoid. They’re loud because they’ve done the math.

And honestly?

Mine are tired of repeating themselves.

I’m Not Perfect at Listening Yet … But I’m Not Gaslighting Myself Anymore

I’m learning to shorten the lag time between:

the first internal whisper and the action I take.

Sometimes listening to yourself is the most loving thing you can do.

And sometimes, trusting your instincts means trusting the version of you that survived the last time you didn’t.

So TLDR: no … I don’t fully trust mine yet.

But I trust them more than I trust my self-doubt. And that’s enough to start.

For My Readers Who Love the Weird Science of Intuition

None of this is required reading … it’s just fun, fascinating, and a perfect reminder that our instincts might be plugged into something bigger than we admit.

✨ Aurora Borealis & Human Emotion

Geomagnetic activity (the same energy behind auroras) has been shown to affect mood, clarity, sleep, and even intuitive sensitivity.

Nature really said “the sky’s glowing and so are you.”

✨ Kozyrev Mirrors

These bizarre aluminum spiral chambers were used in Russian consciousness studies; participants often reported heightened intuition, emotional release, or vivid insights.

Basically: a cosmic sensory tank with extra flair.

✨ Mass Consciousness Studies

Princeton’s Global Consciousness Project documented that during major world events, human emotional energy becomes synchronized in measurable, data-backed waves.

Collective intuition is a real thing.

✨ Lucid Dreamers = Better Pattern Spotters

People who lucid dream often score higher on intuition and insight tasks in waking life.
