Moving feels symbolic at first.
New space. New routines. New energy.

when receipts add up,
when you realize which purchases actually matter.

Some things immediately earned their place.
– A chair that supports long work hours.
– Lighting that shifts the mood without effort.
– Small systems that keep things clean when life isn’t.
There are also things I would absolutely do again:
- Pre-washing ALL of my clothes
- Letting go of items that no longer belonged (including lots of clothes)
- Cleaning the space before trying to make it comfortable
Preparing before the move turned out to be a form

- Moving without help cost more in energy than it saved in money
- And groceries…
Groceries cost more than they used to,
and pretending otherwise was optimistic at best

Starting over isn’t dramatic the way we imagine it.
It’s quieter. More practical.
