What’s your #1 priority tomorrow?

Well, tomorrow’s answer came fast: Respect.
Not the “bow your head and nod” kind. ✨
The real kind. The self-aware, don’t-be-that-person kind.
Respect Looks Different in Every Mirror
For me, it’s respecting my friends’ work by showing up to the commitments I made. Not bailing last-minute because I “don’t feel like it.”
Respecting myself by keeping promises I made to me.
Not because anyone’s watching but because I am.
And this week, that means respecting the cast and crew by not showing up with COVID.
I can’t shake how awful it felt realizing someone probably did that to us last Friday.
The Unspoken Contract
Every group event is a silent agreement:
You show up to have fun, and you show up to keep others safe.
But when someone brings sickness into that space, knowingly or not, it feels like betrayal disguised as a cough.
(We all remember 2020, right?)
A simple choice that ripples through people’s lives: jobs missed, shoots delayed, bodies down bad for a week.
I don’t think they meant harm. Most people don’t.
But it’s wild how often “harmless” decisions still have consequences.
Mindfulness Isn’t Just Yoga and Journals
It’s noticing that you’re tired and staying home.
It’s realizing that maybe you don’t have to be everywhere all the time.
It’s catching yourself before you become the villain in someone else’s story … even unintentionally.
This is what mindfulness really means to me now:
Awareness meets accountability.
The Psychology of Respect
Respect isn’t compliance; it’s connection.
When we act with respect for others, for our own limits, for shared spaces … we reinforce trust.
We tell people, “You matter to me enough to think beyond myself.”
It’s emotional intelligence in action.
It’s empathy with boundaries.
It’s being grown enough to know that “vibes” aren’t an excuse for bad behavior.
My Tea, My Takeaway
I’m sad someone spoiled what could’ve been a perfect night … not out of malice, but out of mindlessness.
And maybe that’s the reminder we all need:
Respect doesn’t have to be loud to matter.
Sometimes, it’s just staying home, even when you’ve got the best outfit ready.
Sometimes, it’s texting: “Hey, I’m not feeling 100%, so I’ll sit this one out.”
And sometimes, it’s remembering that showing up for yourself can mean not showing up at all.
